Charlie, Jeff and I took a drive in the Impala over to Alton, Illinois. Alton is a small river town that features amazing roads that run along the Missouri River and bluffs. Hot rods and motorcycles cruise the river road before stopping to have lunch at Fast Eddies. Which is exactly what we did.
Fast Eddies is a roadhouse and a mid-west institution. The food at Fast Eddies is cooked to order on a giant indoor grill and features favorites like Big Elwood, skewered beef tenderloin and peppers, homemade bratwurst, Cajun chicken and amazing peel ‘n’ eat shrimp. The food is done to perfection and the beer is ice cold. Alton and Fast Eddies are certainly worth a road trip.
