Since this is the first post I thought I’d share a bit about our brand. TRIM was conceived at Smith Race Car Shop in Sedalia, Mo. TRIM fabricates premium apparel and accessories inspired by iconic, all-American hot rods and sophisticated design cues found throughout automotive history. Trim uses vintage automotive fabrics, classic automotive color palettes and iconic emblems that link every item in the collection back to specific makes and models of Detroit horsepower.

Charlie Smith, my business partner and I have been developing the brand for over a year. Finding the right designs, automotive fabrics, inspirations and partners who can make our line in the USA. It’s been challenging and there have been many highs and lows along the way. We’ve been told over and over to produce in China, South America, Mars, anywhere but here. However, we’ve managed to make everything in the States with most materials sourced from the US as well. We feel good about that.

Trim is a Midwest brand and we do most of the designing and fabrication in St. Louis or in Sedalia, Mo. at Smith Racing, a speed shop that’s been owned by Charlie’s dad, Steve Smith, for over 40 years.

Anyway, looking forward to building the TRIM brand and enjoying the ride that comes with it.
