Fabricating Buckles at Smith Race Car Shop

Charlie Smith and his dad Steve completed the first production run of TRIM belt buckles last weekend. The buckles are all created using authentic restoration parts. Here’s a look at the process.

NOS – NEW OLD STOCK

Every item bearing the TRIM name is adorned with authentic NOS, New Old Stock upholstery (original automotive fabric/vinyl that was never used) that links that item back to a specific make, model and year of classic Detroit horsepower.

We’ve used upholstery and vinyl from a 1932 Ford, 1957 Chevy Bel Air and a 1969 Camaro RS/SS to build the TRIM line. Here are a few examples.

32 Blazer

57 Shirt

57hat

57motorhead

69bag

69denim

Custom Buckles

Here’s a few of TRIM’s new custom buckles. Made with authentic restoration parts and aluminum buckles fabricated by Steve Smith at Smith Race Shop in Sedalia, Mo. They are completely bad ass.

Customized Tees, Club Jackets and Hoodies

Just in time for Project, Las Vegas. We got some really cool treatments we’ve developed for all of our custom stained tees, club jackets and hoodies. In addition to embellishing all of our product with classic automotive upholstery we are also primer dusting everything at Smith Race Shop. This process gives a worn, vintage effect that’s like nothing else out there. We will be posting all product on our updated site very soon, but here’s a few shots for now.
