Last weekend, the TRIM team and I hung out with my dad and Sprint Car’s Rookie of the Year, Jonathon Cornell. We worked on new shirts and denim designs, drank Budweiser and had a few burgers. This place is full of old timers telling great stories, burnt coffee, Camel no-filter cigarettes, hand lettered signs and fast cars.

From the Smith Race Car Shop in Sedalia Missouri, Charlie’s family has been customizing, building and racing drag cars for the past 40 years. This is a glimpse into the history: the people, places, races, events, cars and the speed shop that shaped our lives and ultimately led to the creation of the Trim brand.

Charlie’s dad, Steve Smith was and still is, a drag racer, pin striper, customizer, hot rodder and fabricator. Steve builds many of our Trim components including our custom belt buckles, aluminum strap hinges for our bags and our entire show booth.
